The Rusty Pelican
Welcome aboard The Rusty Pelican.
Despite the name, The Rusty Pelican is no ‘rustbucket’. Completely remodeled and freshly painted, this 34-foot dive boat is of hand-laid fiberglass, built to withstand the weather shifts of the west coast.
A sleek, modern-looking 34-foot Hatteras Convertible equipped with a galley and on-board head, the Rusty Pelican has fiberglass-filled front windows, a fully-equipped modern galley, and a mahogany interior salon. There is air conditioning, a stereo cassette on the bridge, and a stereo system in the salon, along with a TV and VCR-player.
Features of the boat include:
- Twin Cummins 555 Turbocharged diesels able to cruise at 15 knots and reach a top speed of 22 knots, designed to get you to the best dive spots quickly;
- A 15 kw generator with 2 kw inverter system on golf cart batteries;
A galley equipped with a 5.5 cubic foot sub-sero refrigerator, microwave-convection oven, coffee maker and on-deck BBQ; - For communications, a Marine VHF system;
- For navigation, a Noble Tec GPS system and Furuno radar; and
- For safety, EPIRB beacon, automatic halon extinguisher, and loud, 12-volt temperature/pressure alarm.
To serve divers, the boat includes a 15kw generator to power the dive compressor. Cory can also provide tanks and weight belts. The 24-foot herring punt can ferry divers to shallower water dive spots.
For whale watching, wilderness viewing, and photography, The Rusty Pelican offers a high open deck, an ideal platform for viewing and photography.
On overnight trips, the Rusty Pelican can sleep up to six people.
To complement The Rusty Pelican, Cory has added a 24-foot herring skiff as an auxiliary vessel. The flat-bottomed punt allows more flexibility in dive sites – and for sightseeing – since it can be used in shallower waters.
